KINO SPORTS COMPLEX PARKING POLICY CHANGE EFFECTIVE MONDAY JUNE 13, 2016

Due to the large crowds at the Kino Sports Complex for this year’s summer leagues, Pima County has expressed concerns with the ability to get emergency vehicles to the facility and the ability for vehicles to safely access and exit the current Ajo parking lot. See Parking Map

COACHES AND PLAYERS ONLY TO USE THE SOUTH ENTRANCE next to the clubhouse building and batting cages. You access this area as if you were coming to Kino Stadium.

    – Effective immediately, players can use either BBCOR all wood composite OR solid one piece wood bat from this date till July 1st.Starting July 5th till end of season players will be able to go back to their regular metal BBCOR bat or still can use wood composite or solid one piece wood if they wish.

  • Age Cutoff For is May 1, 2016
  • Roster Maximum 15 Players
  • Season is June 4 to June 30
  • Number of Games 10
  • Bat: BBCOR
  • Fields: Kino Sports Complex, city, county, school

 

15U KEN Griffey World Series Qualifying League

Highly Competitive League

  • Age Cutoff For is May 1, 2016 – Player cannot turn age 16 prior to 5/1/16
  • Roster Maximum 20 Players
  • Season is June 4 to June 30
  • Number of Games 10
  • Bat: BBCOR
  • Fields: Kino Sports Complex, city, county, school
  • World Series Qualifying: July 5-9 for teams that qualify from the league
  • Tournament: Solid one piece wood bat rule
  • World Series: Winner advances to Ken Griffey Jr World Series July 22-27 @ Surprise Sports Complex. Same Solid one piece wood bat rule

 

Jayvee Division

Developmental League

  • Player Eligibility: Enrolled in high school. No players from class of 2017 permitted
  • Roster: Unlimited regular season
  • Season is June 4 to June 25 (10 games)
  • Post-Season Tournament: June 27-30
  • Winner receives paid entry fee berth to 26th Annual Fall Desert Classic-Las Vegas Oct 28-30
  • Bat: BBCOR or solid one piece wood
  • Fields: Kino Sports Complex, city, county, school

 

Varsity Division

Developmental League

  • Player Eligibility: Enrolled in high school. No players from class of 2016 permitted
    Roster: Unlimited regular season
  • Roster: Unlimited Players
  • Regular season: June 4 to June 30 (10 games)
  • Post-Season Tournament: July 5-9

American Legion

Highly competitive with advancement to play in the National American Legion tournament series State-Regional and World Series levels

  • Season is June 4 to July 16
  • Number of Games: 16 to 20 games depending on number of team entries
  • Player Registration
    • Sunday, May 15 – 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
    • Sunday, May 22 – 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
    • Sunday, May 29 – 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
    • Location to be announced
  • Fields: County, school, city

 

Sun Belt Collegiate League

Competitive/Developmental League

  • Season is June 7 to July 23
  • Number Games: 16-20 range depending on number of teams
  • Player Eligibility: Class of 2016 and older. Player cannot turn 26 prior to August 1, 2016
  • Registration: Application can be downloaded off league web site
  • Fee: Varies per team
    • Bat Specification: Solid one piece wood bat (ash/maple) only
    • Fields: Kino Sports Complex
    • Travel may be required
